Hi Jayadrianna,
You should contact your dads doctor who may prescribe some painkillers.Radiotherapy can also cause a dry mouth, this can make it uncomfortable to swallow. His doctor may also prescribe an artificial saliva.
Kind regards,
All the team at the Roy Castle Helpline
Jay I just recovered from that very same thing . Painkillers and time . It was one of the most painful things I have ever been through . I t get better
Drink some American ginseng or honeysuckle that should cool down the effect of the drug plus radiation
Hi there
Sorry your dad is having a hard time I know it’s horrid.
My mum in law went through the same thing it was a burning sensation for her as the food/drink went down. It can last for several weeks after but hopefully you’ll get some good results my mum in law had the radiotherapy in November last year and the tumour has shrunk a little and since then stayed the same, so it hasn’t grown which is great.
I know my mum in law ended up losing a few pounds and hardly ate so it is a worry but she came out the other end and has been pretty well since.
Good luck 🍀
