Hi allen069,

The most common cause of hoarseness is a cold, upper respiratory tract infection or a bacterial infection, Hoarseness that persists for longer than two weeks should be evaluated by your GP.

Kind regards,

If you've been coughing this long, it is likely to have damaged your voice in some way. have you tried to get that checked out? My voice changes at times especially when I get chest infections or taking certain types of medications including inhalers. Do get yourself checked out - it may not be sinister but the longer these things are left, the more damage they could be doing. good luck
