Hi,

I hope everyone is as well as possible on this lovely sunny morning.

I wonder if anyone has tiredness caused by the Immunotherapy Pembrolizumab? If so I wonder if you have any tips to help combat this. I am well on the therapy (just had number 3) just tired and would like to be less so.

Any top tips would be good.

Thanks,

Lorna

Hi Lorna

Tiredness/fatigue is one of the common side effects of almost all cancer treatments.

There is a very informative section on the following link on managing the tiredness.

cancerresearchuk.org/about-...

This is found on the cancer research website - cancerresearch.co.uk

It is balancing the need to rest when your body tells you and gradual exercise when you feel able to. The physical tiredness can have an impact on you emotionally, especially when you are not able to do normal things , which can make you feel down, frustrated or angry. Both sleep and diet is important, you could perhaps keep a fatigue diary to isolate what activities make you more tired. If you are too tired to cook, have some ready meals as a stand by. All of these and more are addressed on the link suggested above.

You can also find information on our website roycastle.org on managing symptoms such as tiredness.

If you wish to discuss anything you can call us on our free nurse led telephone helpline on 0800 358 7200

All the best
