He should be fine, I am 67 and had my rightlung removed. Doing fine. Gone nearly 4 years now. I was told they wont operate, if they dont think it is going to do any good. Surgery is very good nowadays and at least it removes the cancer almost 98% of cases.

I know a relation who has only half a lung left . He is in his 90s and still gets around.

Good luck to your hubby. xx

Wish him all the best. I got a secondary tumour but that was on my adrenal gland. They removed that 1 year ago.

Its such an awful disease to get. Lets hope you get some good news soon. xx

Up date on my husband they are hopefully going to operate again to take rest off lung so hopefully that will sort it out They thought it had gone to the glands in the middle off the 2 lungs but had an ebus and biopsy done and said what they took showed no cancer doctor said she can't garentee it's not there as needle biopsy only takes small amounts .but it does meet they are considering the operation were if it had off been there they wouldn't off. Hi Carol

Thanks for the update on your husband. It is encouraging that the needle biopsy showed no cancer and it is good that you are being well informed by the doctor, that although no guarantees , surgery is still an option.

Please keep us posted how things go and if you need to talk we are here on the Helpline 0333 323 7200 (option 2)
