Went with dad today for results of scan last 3 have been good shrunk by half, stable, stable again - this time the scan showed that the tumour looked like it had spread out the doctor said she couldnt tell if this was active cancer or an infection but it was just around the mass no where else - has anyone had a similiar scan result?

xx

Hello TERRIpassword,

various things, such as infection or long standing lung conditions can cause changes in your dads scan. Also if your dad has had radiotherapy to his chest sometimes this can cause scarring, you should discuss the results of the scan and any follow up treatment or further tests with the medical staff or lung cancer nurse. It may be worth writing any questions that you may have down and taking it with you when you next see your Dr.

Some other members of the community may be able to share their experience of a similar scan result.
