Just wondered if anyone else has been diagnosed with shingles whilst on chemotherapy treatment? If so, I am interested to hear your story

Sorry no one seems to have posted, not sure if this is no one had this situation. During chemo your body's resistance to infection can be low, so that might be a reason.

Has this happened to you? How are you coping and has it meant changes to your treatment plan?

Thanks for your reply. The GP that I saw said that because my immune system was suppressed with the chemotherapy that the chickenpox that I had had as a teenager had come back as shingles. She gave me a weeks antiviral medications. I am still feeling wiped out and so the chemotherapy that I was due to have this Wednesday has been delayed for another week.

I don't have a specific query to ask, thanks. I was just wondering how common it was.
