Although I do not have lung cancer now, as I had my right lung removed nearly 2 years ago, When you are first diagnosed it is quite daunting.
The one tip I would recommend if possible is delegate a member of your family or a friend to be with you as a spokesperson. Two pairs of ears are better than one. Also there are questions that are easily forgotten to be asked about if you are on your own.
As the patient it gets very tiring , and its good to hand it over to another person at times.
