Very happy as we we're told its not curable to big ect. As its shrank so much we're doing a month of radiotherapy every day excpt weekend. Other than being a bit tired and slightly sick dads done brilliant gained weight too. His worked through it all had the odd day off. But his a taxi driver and this week the council removed this licence to work. This is very distressing for him as his a work acholic. We're going to fight this to get it back hopefully in a month after radiotherapy as I know this will knock him for 6. But what the heck does he do for money ? Spoke to nurse she will get some trust to call us. Anyone else lost there job through lung cancer ? Dads 65. Dont think he belives his doing so well cause the cemo last few weeks took it out of him. He was a bit breathless. Doctor says in a few weeks he'd feel better that is untill radiotherapy starts. Any tips while have this you can offer. Thanks

Hi your dad has done really well and I am sure he knows how lucky he is to have you supporting him.I am 59 and incurable and get a benefit called PIP used to be DLA.I get it because my consultant filled in a DS1500 for me.I think as your dad is 65 he wont get it but speak to his specialist nurse and ask about it or phone the helpline here or macmillan and see what might be available.I still work as the benefit is not means tested or taxed.Best wishes.Julie xx
Hi , great to hear your dad has had a good response to the chemo. I think taking it easy and resting will support your dad mentally and physically in preparation and during radiotherapy. I have been advised to do this to prepare for travelling and 5 days of radiotherapy for a month. Some people say that the radiotherapy is plain sailing to going through chemo. I hope this is case for your dad , and I hope the positive results from treatment continues.
Positive vibes and thoughts for your dad.
