Fatigue and Breathing issues

My 70 year old sister is dx. with Non-small cell AJCC stage1V lung cancer in 2018 - she had chemo/radiation initially - in remission, out of remission Dec 2021 and again this past year (2022) in December. She has been on monthly of Carboplatin/Keytruda. With the most recent reoccurrence she underwent Radiation for 6 treatments and is keeping the Carboplatin/Keytruda regime. The latest treatment has caused a major spike of breathlessness and general weakness.

She is using oxygen for the breathing issues and is generally exhausted. Going into the cancer in 2018 - she was in good health otherwise, a dance teacher and worked in an office. She is still working from home - but is discouraged.

Oral steroids have helped in the past. She feels like she has a vice around her chest/rib cage area.

Any Suggestions?

Hi! My last chemo was in 2016. Fatigue was a major side effect. I just rested as much as possible. I spent a lot of time coloring as I found that soothing and didn’t take much energy. It is frustrating but I gave my body the time it needed to fight my stage 4 cancer. I didn’t worry about the fatigue because that indicated to me the chemo was working. Hope it gets better for her soon.

thank you very much… actually the coloring might be good for her- she likes jigsaw puzzles 🧩
