Hi all,
I first signed up to this support group when my Mum was diagnosed NSCLC in 2018, she sadly passed away in 2021 after trying Iressa (~1yr), chemo (~1yr), and Tagrisso (~10m).
Unfortunately, my ~70yr old uncle who lives in Vancouver had a CT scan last week that showed a change (from one year ago) in a 2.4cm node in one of his lungs and many new dots. However, the specialist doesn’t think it’s cancer at this stage and has ordered a repeat CT scan in 3 months time.
In the meantime, I wonder if anyone knows if there is any doctor in Vancouver who maybe able to advise or refer my uncle for a liquid biopsy (blood) test for next generation sequencing for lung cancer? 3months just seems a bit long for followup if it is indeed cancer that should be treated ASAP. My uncle has COPD, has 30yrs smoking history and only stopped in 2008.
Please kindly let me know if you have any other suggestions.
Thank you so much!!
