GO2 would like to better understand how we could/should be utilizing Artificial Intelligence. As all of you know, AI has fast-tracked its way into many sectors, healthcare being one of them. We are considering the development of an innovative care navigation platform and would love your input.

Completed. I'm involved in several studies exploring the use of AI to identify anomalies on chest imaging sooner and support radiographers/radiologists in their backlog and area of high staff shortages (or at least in the UK) and they show very promising results so far with many identifying suspicious areas in imaging that turn out to be something more than some radiologists. The UK has had shortages of personnel in this area for years well before the pandemic which only worsened the situation and delays in any thoracic imaging can play a major part in ensuring which patients are fast tracked for further investigations or released from investigations. Another lung group with which I'm involved in Europe is trying out AI to sift through the hundreds of articles on cancer it receives every month to identify the headlines for a newsletter/support for the staff. like the internet when it first opened up, we probably are only aware of a fraction of AI capability and it's not all bad news as the headlines would have us believe at the moment. thanks for raising such an important topic.
