Hello friends. I have recently started on tagrisso which I am desperately hoping will work as so far the other treatments have not or have failed very quickly. I am constantly on the look out for new treatments that may be suitable for me, particularly as I was told for many months that tagrisso was not suitable for me, or was it a funding issue?
My question is I have a urine infection which is being very difficult t clear. My GP tried changing the antibiotic but it just got a lot, lot worse. I will persist for the 7 days prescribed and hope there is a bigger change in symptoms but has anyone else faced this difficulty with their tagrisso treatment?
The only other issue I have is my legs have gone very weak and walking is now very difficult. I am trying to walk round the garden in the hope the legs improve. Does this work?
Thank you all for being there and for all your caring advice and support. God bless you
Sally

Sally, I’m sorry you are dealing with this. SO uncomfortable. i have not had Tagrisso. But, On both lines of treatment I have had, my doctor told me that UTI and yeast infections are more common. The last time I had a UTI, it didn’t respond to the first antibiotic and required a second type based on the cultures that grew out. I also drank a lot of cranberry juice , but I think that just was a coincidence with having the right antibiotic. As for leg weakness, I can’t speak to that. With fatigue, my doctors and psychologist have always encouraged me to walk a short distance outdoors rather than totally staying on the couch. I think walked around your garden is probably good for your spirit if not literally for the feeling of leg weakness. Hopefully someone else on the forum has better first hand experience with Tagrisso. Best wishes
I just recently recovered from a UTI that was antibiotic resistant. I ended up getting antibiotics by infusion that were much stronger than what you can take orally. So far as I know they’ve done the trick for me. At the same time I got to c-diff that was treated by a different antibiotic. Have they done a culture to find out what type of bacteria that you have? I had an urinalysis which showed up the bacteria.
I have a lung cancer friend also on Tagrisso who has had chronic UTI's for months that were not responding to antibiotics. She saw a few specialists and has now been diagnosed with institutal (so?) cystitis which requires very specific care. She's now seeing a doctor who specializes in IC and just starting treatment. It's been a long road and she was not getting anywhere with her PCP or Urologist. Just wanted to share in the event you continue to have this issue! Hopefully you do not have IC, but it's something to consider if you continue having the UTI's! Best wishes
Unfortunately can't help with urine infection but I'm presuming your GP will try various antibiotics and they usually do a resistance and culture test on your urine at the lab.
I'm like you always looking for new treatments for my lung cancer and trials. We have to have hope.
I can sympathise with your difficulty walking. My cancer is pressing on a nerve and it affects my left leg, bad enough having cancer but now can't walk.
