Ingrown Toenail due to Tagrisso - preventative care?

Hi Community: My father has been on Tagrisso for nearly a year now. And he's experienced dermatologic toxicity such as pimples and fissures on his finger tips. Lately though, he's had two ingrown toenails which he's never had before. He's going back to the podiatrist for tx. Seeking advice and suggestions on what he can do to prevent these issues. Has anyone used tea tree oil?

With gratitude, 🌺🙏

Aimee

Sorry I don’t have any suggestions except to make sure he only allows a podiatrist to trim his toenails. I have some minor skin issues and use aquaphor. But I really commented to offer my “rats! That’s awful.” Cancer is tough enough with the usual treatment side effects, but when you add issues like this, it seems extra frustrating. I’m sorry.

Hi Jennifer: Thank you for your response and I hear you! In the scheme of things, we're so grateful that he's on a TKi. But yes, an ingrown toenail and now, #2 is a bit annoying. He religiously uses Aquaphor, too. He's noticed that his skin is drier despite living in a humid environment - he lives in Hawaii. Sending you thoughts of wellness.🙏💕🌺

I, too, have many skin problems, including frequent ingrown toe nails (which I have never had before the Tagrisso). I go to the podiatrist every 9 weeks so he can cut my nails and catch the start of the ingrown nail before it gets too bad. He had no other suggestions.
