Cough Again!

Hello all!!!

So I know I have been posting so much here about my mom and her recent mammogram. But this is concerning her previous tumor removed by lobectomy past June. The carcinoid was taken away and she was in ICU intubated for a month (I have already told this story) Anyway she kept having this persistent cough which got better, but now it is cold again and she always chokes and coughs until she starts gagging. It has become frequent now. She says she chokes easily on her saliva and when she talks alot/ cold weather or in her dyalisis.

She had a recent PET scan last month and the oncologist said everything seemed to look good. I am very concerned about her cough though and she is too. We think it could be because of the ICU intubation during her lobectomy and diagnosis since she had to take dysphagia thickener to get her throat to swallow normally again for months. Have any of you experienced this post lobectomy cough??

Sorry I did not have a lobectomy. I would suggest calling her doctor and asking if it would be okay for her to use some Mucinex D. You need to be careful that it won’t interact with any of her other medications.
