Hello-
My dad is in his second week of radiation therapy to his chest and brain. He's been doing well for the most part, besides being tired. Today though he is throwing up a lot. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm concerned.

Hello Lesley
My husband has had radiation to the brain. He was given anti-nausea medication before each session and a ppi for stomach protection. My husband was lucky he only felt slightly nauseous one day, half way through the treatment. I am sure his medical team could prescribe something to help with his systems.

I was taking chemotherapy and radiation and was given the anti nausea medicine as well. I was very sick but thankfully I stayed hydrated and was able to keep a small amount down each day.
If you're unsure about his condition, call your oncologist and they may be able to make suggestions.
God bless you and your Dad.
If you haven't already talked to your dr please do that. There are a variety of medications available to manage nausea.
Radiation made me so sick. It was so much worse than chemo for me. I hope he feel's better soon.?💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Just the opposite for me. Chemo ( cisplatin and alimpta ) did not sit well with me. I had all the anti nausea meds (which are tough to stay down)! I have IV meds also with my chemo treatment. I had to go back for IV'S FOR 2 WEEKS..EVERY DAY. I said enough is enough. They changed me to CABOPLATIN and alimpta and I was much less sick.
After treatment I had radiation which did not bother me at all.
I started with a left upper lobectomy for what was thought to be stage one.Well it turned out to be stage 3A, with 2 positive nodes. That was 2013. I'm still here and having scans every 3 months.
Sometimes only every 6 Mos depending on the opinion of the radiologist.
Difficult to assess my breathing due to my asthma.
Today is another day. I get up every morning refusing to let it consume my mind.
It's very helpful for me to concern myself with others. I was a hospice nurse. Now I volunteer for them and have my dog trained to be a therapy dog. All very rewarding for me. That's how I keep it together.
