Blood test during lung cancer diagnosis

Hi

My mum is undergoing tests at the moment and has been told she probably has a tumour in her right lung... she has a needle biopsy booked for next Tuesday and is having blood tests later this week for clotting? Has anyone else had this type of blood test prior to LC diagnosis? And why are they doing it?

Thanks x

Determining the type of lung cancer and appropriate treatment is very important. Be patient and help your Mom to cope. May God be with you both and give you His peace that passes understanding. God is aware of what you're going through.

Missdwatts,

I am really sorry to hear about your Mother. She is lucky to have you by her side through out this difficult waiting time. The blood test is just done to make sure her blood will clot correctly when she has the biopsy - it is just a standard procedure to ensure the safety of your Mother during the procedure.

Please let us know how things go - we will be waiting to hear, and holding you both in our thoughts.

Hugs,

Peggy
