Question
I have lost a lot of muscle mass all over my body since my diagnosis and treatments. I have thought about rejoining a gym to try to regain some of my strength. My problem is that I stay exhausted all the time. My cancer was inoperable, stage 3b, and I took radiation and chemo for 34 days straight. It zapped any and all strength I had.
With that being said, if you can afford it and have time, I imagine working out 3 days a week would help you immensely.
It has been almost 3 years since my surgery and diagnosis of lung cancer to remove my right upper lobe, followed by chemo. I have not had the problem you asked about. My surgeon and oncologist has always encouraged me to exercise. I currently walk at least 1 hour a day, and have spin class twice a week.
I would encourage you to speak to your doctor about what you are experiencing, and see if it is possible to exercise, i.e. walk.
Chemo knocked me out.... Yes my legs hurt like crazy. I use magnesium spray which helped a lot. There was no way I could of done any exercise.. Would try to do some kind of moment of leg movements in bed and used two pound weights for arms.. Are still on chemo if so what kind?
