Hello Everyone. I thought I would share my good news regarding a course of treatment using velcro wraps. I have secondary lymphoedema in my left leg and have been wearing class2 flat knit stockings everyday. My leg was 51% larger than my right leg. I did a course of lymph pump daily for 10 days, also wearing the wraps. It was decided I should continue to wear the wraps for a further 3 months. I have been given 2 follow up pump sessions in this time. I was also given comfiwave stockings to wear at night. ( I found these very comfortable to wear )
I have just finished the 3 months and I am so happy to say that my leg has now reduced to 21%. I do feel it is still reducing so I will continue with the wraps, perhaps in the evenings or for an odd day if I am at home. My leg is now a normal shape too. I have now have a class 3 flat knit stocking on order ( another story ) so I'm still in the wraps till that arrives! Obviously I don't know how much rebound I will get but I am hoping with the use of the wraps I will be able to control this.
I cannot tell you how happy I am with this result, so much more than I was expecting! I'll report back to you when I have more info. Stay well everyone.

Hello Perido The wraps are made by Haddenham. My lymphodema started about 7 years ago, it was fine for some time only about 6% difference. Then about 2 years ago it started getting bigger. I have no idea why!
To go from 6% to 51% within 2 years after a period of stability must have quite alarming. I glad the wraps have been so helpful.
I've had secondary lymphoedema in my right leg for 6 years. I changed from a circular knit stocking to flat knit one 4 years ago because my swelling was getting worse. Luckily fairly stable so far - I've not skipped a day wearing compression.
I’m so pleased things are working out for you Perido. I too would never have a day with out my compression stocking,. I know some people find them difficult to wear and not everything works for everyone, you can only do what works for you.
This is great news I have lymphoedema in both legs and feet my legs are very large I live in Northern Ireland I feel we are a bit behind rest of UK my phisothearpist is fantastic I have bandandges done and then I'm in garments it's great when you read other people's stories good luck on your journey such positive results ❤️
That's great news! Thanks for sharing, and here's hoping you continue to see more improvement. 🙂 Did you wear your wraps while pumping, or am I misreading your post?! I'm trialling a pump at the moment and find it useful - my therapist said I could use my Comfiwave with it (but not my regular sleeve) although I haven't tried that yet...
