Hello Everyone. I thought I would share my good news regarding a course of treatment using velcro wraps. I have secondary lymphoedema in my left leg and have been wearing class2 flat knit stockings everyday. My leg was 51% larger than my right leg. I did a course of lymph pump daily for 10 days, also wearing the wraps. It was decided I should continue to wear the wraps for a further 3 months. I have been given 2 follow up pump sessions in this time. I was also given comfiwave stockings to wear at night. ( I found these very comfortable to wear )
I have just finished the 3 months and I am so happy to say that my leg has now reduced to 21%. I do feel it is still reducing so I will continue with the wraps, perhaps in the evenings or for an odd day if I am at home. My leg is now a normal shape too. I have now have a class 3 flat knit stocking on order ( another story ) so I'm still in the wraps till that arrives! Obviously I don't know how much rebound I will get but I am hoping with the use of the wraps I will be able to control this.
I cannot tell you how happy I am with this result, so much more than I was expecting! I'll report back to you when I have more info. Stay well everyone.
