what are the stages of lympedema(never heard of them)

I live in the USA, noone ever said anything about stages. What nhappens at each stage? Are the stages like cancer stages?

Staging markers can differ from clinic to clinic, and should only be used as a guide for treatment. The volume of an affected limb(s) can very, depending on a number of factors.

It cannot be compared to cancer staging.

thank you at my clinic they made me buy an expensive farrow wrap and sent on my way no explanation or followup. It took two years to find out what was wrong with me Now I have an over active bladder to help me expel the fluid (ha ha)

Hi Catlover508. I’m in the UK and am a member of the LSN (Lymphoedema Support Netwotk). You can access their website where you will find lots of information. I’ve also just ordered a book called Lymphoedema Management and Nutrition by Jean Lamantia and Ann Dimenna. It has lots of information covering empowering strategies, recipes and exercises plus self lymphatic drainage and measuring. Lots of other useful information Not read it all yet but it’s quite explanatory and easy to understand. It’s published in Canada by Robert Rose so I’m sure you will be able to access this easily. Good luck in your search for further knowledge.

The nurses at my lymphoedema clinic have assessed my lymphoedema (leg) as overall mild, on the basis of feel and appearance. However a recent ICG lymphography scan report states that I have severe lymphoedema in the lower part of my leg.
