An Idea for Those Needing Trousers With Wider Legs..

It seems to me that the availability of trousers with wider legs for women are greater than those for men. To help a friend I have scoured websites many times and can't get the width needed. Initially I found cargo trousers at SizedWell / Big Clobber under the Ben Simonelli range. Believe me, the legs are indeed very wide but prefer to have to take them in a bit than try and let the seams out as in today's world manufacturers do not put much in the way of a seam allowance in. These are brilliant for the winter months as the material is heavier but in the summer they can be uncomfortable. Having already had gussets inserted in pair of his office trousers I was relieved to see what a greater level of comfort it provides. It did, however, involve sacrificing a second pair of trousers to provide the material for the gussets and there is enough left to do it again. It may well seem a waste of a pair of trousers but if one pair can make 2 pairs wide enough for a wearer to be comfortable then it has solved a problem. Bear in mind that the gussets are in the inside seam and unless you do a bit of ballet dancing and show the world then they really are not that noticeable. Comfort has to be paramount for those needing trousers with wider legs. For those handy with a sewing machine it is not a difficult task. I don't have a sewing machine so took them to a tailor and happy with result. Well worth cutting into a second pair.

I have found that Lands End wide leg pants work very well. Perhaps the issue is with pants that are even wider than what I need but I think one should definitely look there first.

I visited the Lands End website and it's brilliant for wide leg pants for women but the means trousers appear to be either straight leg or regular. Your suggestion is appreciated though because it might help others looking for wide leg pants.
