Hi, can anyone tell me if they have experienced worse swelling of the breast when wearing a compression garment? I have just started treatment for breast Lymphoedema. Thank you

you dont say what compression garment you are wearing. are you referring to a compression bra or a sleeve?

breast oedema usually responds well to treatment which may include manual lymphatic drainage, and kinesiotaping.

the medi lipomed garment or anita lymphOfit bra are good chest wall compression. & your daily care is really important: skin care, upper limb exercises, and self lymphatic drainage.

if you are experiencing more swelling of the breast with a chest wall compression garment then this may be too tight and restricting the flow of lymph out of the breast. if you have more swelling whilst wearing a sleeve then you may also need chest wall compression.

it would be worth contacting your lymph clinic. x

Thank you flow 1 yes I have made contact with Macmillon who think it could be I am having a reaction to the foam padding. I was given this to create massage. I am using the Carley Smith method and after two days it has gone back to the size it was before. Yes I do use non perfume creme bioderma for irritated and dry skin. I have a small trampoline which I gently use, walk each day and have lost 4 kilos. Last week I just felt so alarmed and dismayed and felt quite scared. I am now going to ring my Lymphoedema clinic. Thanks again it’s jyst good to talk.
