Hi I'm new to this forum. I have the luck to have the dreaded condition on both lower legs plus my buttocks. The skin on legs is improving and the swrlling.seems the same but I'm struggling with the bottom. The skin is very delicate and tears easily and I bleed profusely. I have lots of allergies so can't use ordinary dressings etc.
I was diagnosed by Dermatologist and referred to Lymphodeama service who advised I cannot access their service as my BMI is too high.
Anyone dealing with this pain in the ......
Any advice about skin care welcome; I refuse only blows!

Not sure why the lymphoedema service denied access due to BMI - not relevant - I would query that - you should at the very least have been offered some form of compression. Have you ever had manual lymphatic drainage? What form of lymphoedema have you got - primary (genetic/born with) or secondary (caused by trauma or treatment for cancer)?
It was hard getting them to accept a referral as they told gp they only treat cancer patients and then it was refused due to my weight.
I have secondary lymphodeama following long history of cellulitis after reacting to hair remover. I haven't had any treatment apart from biopsies and skin care advice from dermatology.
I have slightly enlarged spleen and nodes in abdomen; no diagnosis.
