My doctor always encourages me to get a flu shot every year...and I get one. Does anyone else get a flu shot annually?

Yes. My lung doctor encourages it. And I am required to get one for work.

I do not get the flu shot. I have an allergy to eggs and the last time I got one (because it's such a teeny tiny amount of eggs I would be fine they said) I had muscle aches and soreness for three months straight. I lived on ibuprofen. Not worth it to me since I don't seem to be prone to getting the flu. I get everything else going around but I'm always negative for the flu thankfully!

Yes, I get it done every year. It's free in the UK if you have certain chronic health conditions (which includes asthma) & I tend to get chased by the GP & the pharmacist to get it done!

I get my flu shot every year but didnt get it last year but i was sick with my asthma.

I always get a flu shot. It can’t give you the flu, but if you do get it, it will be less severe. The flu and asthma are a dangerous combination and it would be like playing Russian roulette to not get that vaccine.

Sorry to hear that. I did get my jab but it was late in December when I had it and I got a chest infection in November following flu symptoms. It cleared up but then came back in December and I am still suffering with it now. I had 5 lots of antibiotics and steroids plus xrays and spirometry! Definitely make sure I get it early this year!

Oh YES! Every year and Pneumonia. And this year Shingrex, for shingles, kinda painful depending on the expertise of the person giving the two injections. Also Measles and anything else. I have been told by my provider that I could safely travel the world with all the inoculations that I have had. Some a one time thing, the rest will need certain levels of maintenance. A good portion of this was in preparation for starting treatment with Nucala.
