Yesterday was quite a day. Went to NYC and had major surgery done on my left turbinates/conshus bulba. For five years it has felt like I have had a marble up there. Sinus breathing is an integral part of asthma management. Remember,,asthma/sinus research is like a second job for me. I have a small bleed still going on and I am irrigating regularly and that " marble sensation" is gone. I think this is going to work. Left sinus is still swollen inside but I am already getting more air in than pre operation. Again, this was not an office procedure, I have had them over the years with little luck. This was full blown, under anasthesia, in an operating room. I have a good feeling about this one.
I have had a great week, considering it's been humid and rainy, which is usually when my asthma acts up. I can tell a huge difference in my asthma since being on Nucala shots (just started 2 months ago). I was at a library yesterday and breathed In something that caused me to wheeze and need my rescue inhaler. But mostly I am feeling great. Now my allergies are acting up a bit, but not causing my asthma to act up. Yeah!
It’s 3:30am woke up due to coughing unable to breathe I live alone so this causes me to now have an anxiety feeling and makes it harder to breathe. Trying to stay calm
Thanks for asking. The more the wildfire smoke recedes, the better I do. It's strange to feel that your condition hinges on the weather forecast. I'm battling my own impatience. The rains will come eventually.
My week has been good, thanks for asking! My little girl has just started preschool so had a little cry (sad and proud) when she ran off into the playground and immediately threw herself into meeting other kids and playing. Time is just flying!
How about everyone else? Any issues with the beginning of fall?
Well not doing well at all. My peak flows have been from 50 to 70 percent fot about three monthsnow. They check for ige and eosinophil levels but are not high enough. Taking meds faithfully along with nebs and rescue inhalers. I cant seem to figure this out. Any new ideas....
Last time I went to the doctor, she said it was fine to take more puffs of my inhalers, so using them more at the start and end of the day (I have salbutamol and duoresp) which has really helped, clearly I wasn't taking enough before. Unfortunately it's nearly run out and the last couple of days have been suffering a bit due to rationing myself as the repeat prescription won't be ready til tomorrow pm, I wish I was more organised sometimes!
My week hasn’t been great for my asthma but had a very helpful phone conversation with a Doctor at Hand private GP yesterday. She recommended taking antihistamines every day, but not always the same ones; switching to different antihistamine drugs every so often stops your body getting used to them. A good tip I will definitely be trying!
My breathing hasn't been too bad this week & my blood pressure is on track, which considering I've had 3 wet playtimes to deal with this week is probably a minor miracle. I'm just waiting for the start of term infections to kick in though which will probably set me back...every kid that sneezes as I walk past feels like trouble on the way!
