Hi, I'm Robert, and I'm here on behalf of my wife. She is allergic to citrus, and she wants to lose weight, but we don't know what to do to help her lose weight. Any advice out there?

Citrus Allergies

Hi Joker666, Has she ever tried high protein? I also am citrus intolerant.
Blessings! Krazygirl
I'll talk to her about that. What would you suggest krazy-girl?
Like the Atkins diet? I do my own thing if your interested I'll elaborate?
Please elaborate for me.
For breakfast I would start at 1 hardboiled egg. and a fruit-like 1/2 apple. mid-morning I make my own protein bars and have 2 of them. she could always have another boiled egg. I put some kind of protein into everything I eat. Lunch could consist of baked, broiled, grilled, but never fried, 3 ounces chicken white or dark the portion shouldn't be any larger than your palm of you hand. and she could have mixed green salad (spinach, kale, romaine) with 1 tablespoon olive oil. mid afternoon a small protein shake (premier protein shakes are really good, Costco carries them) (they also have pure protein bars that are good) Don't go over 3 grams sugar in any protein tho. Dinner piece of cod, another salad or cooked vegetable (small). I have cut out all carbs. myself and if shes craving something sweet get dark chocolate candy bar. I use to eat hersheys special dark, I'd keep it in the freezer and eat 1 block a day. You can't make her stick to this she needs to do it like its her last chance at life. She could always a 1/2 piece of fruit instead off candy. If you get canned fruit get lite and drain out all syrup in a colander and rise it with cold water. Dole also make little 1/2 cup fruits in water, she could have one of them. If you have any questions please ask, Also replace all sugar with stevia (amazon) liquid. I can't afford this so I use unfliterd organic honey. Hope this helps. She can drink all the coffee tea she wants as long as its not sugared. I am not a big water person so I drink a lot of unsweeted/decaf ice tea. Or sparking water w/o salt sugar. But I get like La Croix brand. there very good. Good Luck and blessings to both of you.
Has she considered getting checked by a good allergist in your hometown? This will help narrow down other things she's allergic to. I know its a expense to take on, but she also may be allergic to foods that may contribute to her weight loss also. I'm not really certain what, but there are other choice for weight loss items that get consumed..
You are welcome and hope the advice helps or gets you going in a direction that assists with getting her health under control.
