Don’t allow shame to overshadow you. Self-love is giving yourself compassion for the mistakes you have made.

Just love what you said. Unfortunately, we don’t we tend not to do that. I’ve read there’s a difference between shame and guilt. That guilt is good and shame is bad. Because when you mess up you might tell yourself ” I did something bad” that’s guilt versus “ I’m a bad person” that’s shame and sticks to you and is very unhealthy and makes you feel worthless. Guilt allows for those mistakes you made to make you want to change for the better and there is compassion still for yourself. And by loving yourself you can forgive yourself for mistakes and know it’s ok no one is perfect. However, you are are priceless!

Thanks for your awesome response.

So I learned that while guilt is felt from having done something wrong and shame is result of awareness of guilt , a painful feeling about how we appear to others. I think with guilt we can grow from it but I feel like shame it like eats at us, Im guessing the better we are treated by self and others the less shame there seems to be. I know my shame comes from derp down inside from past hurts so I feel today as if there’s something very wrong with me.

Jam packed full of fun. I love summer. I wonder how I’ll handle helping the kids with online school when it starts but trying to enjoy each day and hope to enjoy each school day as well.
