Palpitations
Hello Bethanie17
Palpitations are very unpleasant and yes at first you feel like it must be serious but once the Doctors have given you the all clear and told you it is down to anxiety I think then it is trying to accept it
The less importance you give them the less you will have them as it is fear and anxiety that causes them so the more we fear the more we feel them
Try telling yourself when they come on that you know your anxiety is creating this and you won't let it get to you ( not easy I know ) and at first you won't believe it but the more you tell yourself eventually it will get easier
Take Care x
I’ve been to the doctors and they say I’m healthy... like you said I just need to not give it importance. It’s hard but I’m willing to put in the work... Thank you 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Hello
I know how hard it can be but try and trust your Doctors , they would not say you were healthy if they thought you was not but the anxiety will want to tell you otherwise so it can stay in control , let it know you are the boss and will slowly take that control back x
Hi Bethanie. I've had palps for about 30 years (I just remembered I once wrote "20 years" in one of my replies here but my math was wrong 🙄) I've only suffered anxiety symptoms since last summer. I started to get palps and dizziness as a teenager and I was advised by my doc to take iron pills at the time and cut out caffeine, which helped immensely (iron was for dizziness). Now as an adult I find caffeine makes no difference to my palps. How do I deal with them? I guess just knowing that I've had three workups in the last 15 years and two cardiologists assuring me it's not dangerous, I just think of them as hiccups.... annoying but they go away quickly. I know so many people who've had them for decades and they're fine (my dad and aunt are two of those people). My cousin on my dad's side has it too. All I can say is embrace it as a quirk of your own unique physiology and when they happen just let them happen. I too get startled at times... especially if it goes on for longer than usual but rest assured it always returns to normal shortly thereafter.😊
