immediately focus on breathing when waking up

For the past few days, I'll wake up automatically focusing on my breathing. It almost feels like I'm controlling it and it will stop. Does anyone deal with this? I need to work on beating morning anxiety.

Try to convert this breathing anxiety with meditation breathing exercise.

I do restorative yoga one night a week and as part of the class we concentrate on breathing. When I begin I always feel anxious and can't get breathe in deeply. I just try to slow things down and concentrate on the breathing saying to myself slowly "breathing in I know I am breathing in. Breathing out I know I am breathing out." This is simple and you can try it at other times like bedtime as well. It takes a bit but eventually the breathing slows down and it is the most wonderful feeling. It lifts the anxiety and it gives me the best sleep of the week. I also acknowledge that having PD and at times the shaking on the interior and exterior all can make me anxious. I try to own it. Let me know if this breathing exercise works?
