Anti-depressants and OCD
Hello
I suffer with dreadful ocd & I have been have been seeing a physiologist
I have suffered over 30 years with it & I know how debilitating it is & how it takes over your life so I would grab the support in the form of therapy , I have a long way to go but I have started to make small changes & understand ocd more
As for the medication I know they use antidepressant not just for depression but also anxiety & ocd .....it can be off putting if you have seen your Mum on them & you do not feel they have helped her but we are all different so they could help you
You could tell yourself you will take them for maybe 3 months and if you don't like the way they make you feel you are in control of your treatment so you could stop them , consulting with your Doctor the best way to come back of them if you give them a try
If you really feel you just cannot face taking them go back & speak to your Doctor there could be something else they could offer
Good luck x
