Palpitations, skipped beat, rapid heart beat..... All day awful
Heart!!!: Palpitations, skipped beat... - Living with Anxiety
Heart!!!
Hello
Uncomfortable changes in heart rate are the most frequently reported symptoms of panic attacks. Over 80% of those experiencing panic list a rapid or irregular heart rate as a symptom.
Three complaints are common among people with anxiety when they go to seek their doctor's advice about their heart, we will possibly describe it as "My heart feels like it's pounding violently in my chest," "My heart is racing, " and "My heart feels like it skips a beat."
Heart palpitation are typically an expected sensation when the force and rate of the heartbeat are considerably elevated through anxiety
When we get anxious & get these sensations we are more than likely proned to turn our attention to our physical symptoms we are feeling creating more fear & the symptoms therefore continue and we struggle to try & focus & learn to cope or even recognize what the situation was we were in at the time these palpitations started
Instead we tend to fear that it maybe a sign of heart disease or some other physical disorder again creating more anxiety
You are not alone with suffering with this & as you try & relax by distracting yourself or telling yourself this is anxiety then it will subside
If you have spoken to your doctor & they have have given you a clear bill of health try to be reassured & if you have not spoken to your doctor then make an appointment & let them check you over & give you peace of mind x
