Would you be kind enough to tell me about something.

I wanted t know that when can one make sure after test that if He/She has HIV positive or Negative?

I know that it depends upon time and testing methods.

I wanted to have a blood test for HIV. Hence, I wanted to know the best duration after being infected with it. Can you guys detect the HIV after one week of infection? Please respond t my email.

The recommendation was that a test should be done 12 weeks after possible exposure to HIV infection , as less than this the infection may not show up . Obviously if you have unprotected sex within the 12 week period you must wait for 12 weeks to pass from the last date of unprotected sex .
