So this is my 3rd time here and 3rd time on Keto. I always loose a stone in weight feel happy, stop and then revert back to my sugar and carb addiction.
But this time I am hoping it will be different. I have prepared better. I have bought lots of Keto items such as Almond Flour etc.
I have put a picture board up showing me what i am aiming towards.
I am 5ft 2ins my start weight is 12st 13lbs. My target weight is 9st., I aim to loose 3st 13lb on full clean Keto.
Tomorrow i will post a picture of me now at 12st 13lbs. I will also post each meal as I have them daily with a photo every 6lb loss.
What takes you back to carbs and after how long? When I was giving up carbs I told myself I could eat anything in any quantity so long as it was not carbs. I ate a lot if cheese! But it got me through…
My experience /view is the reward is getting into nice clothes & not looking like a whale when I catch sight of myself accidentally in a shop window. A short term reward before that kicked in used to be lipstick for me, but I guess a new face mask could work…
But I also understand about food rewards. Dolcelatte, pork scratchings & double cream are my special foods. I hate the word treat for complex reasons relating to a very irritating family member…
Without sounding sanctimonious, I hope, I think it’s useful for us all to learn to get a hit from other physical pleasures besides eating. Clean sheets, a hot bath & gardening work for me.
Welcome back🤗As a dyed-in-the-wool (where did that saying come from??? 😂) keto fan, having lost 60lbs last year on it, I appreciate it can be a challenge but happy to let you know what I did in different situations in case that is helpful ☺️You can do it this time 👍
My problem is i lose 1 stone and i think i deserve a reward. Usually chocolate. Then i just revert back to my old ways. I need to be on keto as its the only thing we have tried that controls my epilepsy. Keto needs to be a lifestyle for me not a diet. Although i do need to lose some weight too. I think i now have it set in my head now that its my new lifestyle. Hopefully lol
Welcome back, Tessa. I was worried about you. I look forward to following your journey.
I have to agree with KetoQueen . You know how to eat keto successfully. You need to focus on this slips. Obviously avoiding that first piece of chocolate, but also what do if you do have one piece.
I am lucky I haven't gone through this, but maybe this presentation can give you some insight?
Hey badger! Hope your well? Thank you i will take a look at that tomorrow as im too tired now. Ive taken a really good look at myself lately. I think i now understand my relationship with food. Sugar in general. I admit im a sugar addict. Ive managed 2 days fully clean keto. Ive had the worst pounding headache. Ive been drinking water with electrolytes which helped some what. Now when i have cravings i make myself a nice keto meal esp protein and high in fat. It really helped. I wont lie today has been esp hard for cravings. Hopefully tomorrow will be better 🙏
I am in a similar position to you...I have also lost a lot of weight, via Low Carb and IF (Keto at times)....but given some health issues, I can't seem to get my mojo back, and have gained 10 lbs, and feel horrible for it.
Good luck with getting back to your healthy lifestyle....hopefully I will be joining you, starting today.
It is hard esp with health issues. I have a slipped disc so i comfort eat when its painful. Guess im going to have to comfort eat on green beans now instead? Lol.Good luck with your journey Shield. I look forward to reading about your progress too x
I comfort eat occassionally for pain reasons too Tessa. My go to now, though, is mushrooms zapped in the microwave with a bit of grated cheese on top, very yummy 😊. xx
I'm a bit of a mushroom addict so it really hits the spot for me 😊
I'm managing. I'm getting my knee replacement tomorrow (was cancelled last week) and the weight i've lost so far (10 st 7lbs as of this morning) has already done wonders for my arthritis. I can't wait to be more mobile again (its 11 months since i damaged my knee) but was already struggling with arthritis in it.
LCHF with some keto days have worked so well for me 😁 xx
Youve lost 10.5 stone? Wow thats amazing well done 👏 I hope your operation goes well tomorrow. My mum has had both knees done. I highly recommend walking as soon as you can and as much as you can. It kept my mum mobile now you cant tell shes had them done! Good luck x
I do actually weigh in kg but regularly get asked what it is in stones so quite often go straight to that. I've 'lost' a few friends along the way. They love telling me lol xx
I have and it does feel amazing. I'm now comfortably in a size 16, wow!!!
Haha i'm not sure about the wonder woman bit but i'm not far off a bionic one lol. I thing my surgeon will be extra careful, he now knows one of his colleagues is a good friend of mine! Lol xx
Perhaps you can dip those green beans in full fat mayo lol (I love mayo).
I admire so many members on here...and you are one of them...I remember your posts last year...you were an inspiration then...and you are now also....your recent post, makes me feel like I'm not alone in this weight loss and lifestyle change struggle.
If Tessa75...a die hard Keto Queen can have a little trip and fall, then I can too...I just need to start the journey again....like you.
Thank you Shield we are all human at the end of the day. We try, we fail and we try again until we get to where we want to be. WE CAN DO THIS!! Everyone here is going through the same thing just at different levels. One day at a time. Ive just made some burgers from scratch to munch on during the day 😀
I just sent you....or rather tried to, send you a PM, but it said that I wasn't authorised (no idea why) so here it is...if you fancy getting in touch for some moral support, getting back on track, you'll need to PM me first I think....if not, no worries at all....and, good luck x
Hi Tessa,
How are you?
Have you managed to get back on track, with your Keto way of eating?
I don't know if you saw my post? (Well 2, almost the same...one in LCHF and the other on the Fasting Forum)...I hope to get back on track, starting this coming Monday....if you fancy joining me ?
