Welcome MsMimi and good luck.

While I am personally in favour of weight loss, you need to remember that life change is required. If at the end of 12 weeks you go back to your current lifestyle, you will also eventually return to your current weight.

You might find lchf easier than you think. I originally started with the intent on doing it for 4-12 weeks, but found it worked so well that I have been living without significant carbs for almost a year.

Good luck MsMiminremember you are doing this this to improve your life and you are doing it for you. Good luck you will have lots of good advice and support here..

You go girl 👍

Welcome to the group MsMimi. As others have mentioned, you need to look at this as a life change. If you think in terms of 12 weeks of "weight loss" followed by "going back to normal", you will fail, because "normal" is what made you fat in the first place.

You'll find that LCHF is easy and enjoyable (or at least the majority find it so - I won't say everyone) and you should have no problem sticking with it forever. It really is just healthy eating. There's a learning curve to begin with, and a bit of mildly-uncomfortable adjustment, but there are no complicated rules to follow, no counting-and-measuring, and no sense of gnawing hunger to fight against.

Can I point you in the direction of the starter guide?

You might also want to have a look at the PHCUK website - they have some good, straightfoward documents there too.

Hello MsMimi,Welcome and all the very best to you as you begin your journey. Have you seen

dietdoctor.com/low-carb/a

dietdoctor.com/low-carb/keto

So much information on the Dietdoctor site. I am at my lightest adult weight and have now been eating low carb for 1½years. My husband didn't have weight to lose but he eats this way too. We gradually swapped over a period as we found out more about it.

Take out your sources of temptation, the biscuits, the sugar and the cakes. If they are not there you can't eat them, and after the first week the yearning will subside. Don't be too shocked if it takes 6 weeks before the weight starts to shift. Think about what you are going to do for XMAS?
