Do eggs have carbs? Is there a sample menu on here. I’m trying to figure out what to eat besides salad and eggs. Thanks.

Short answer is "no". They're virtually carb-free. Are you vegetarian?

DietDoctor.com is a great resource for recipes, and there are some visual guides which are very useful for getting a handle on high-carb vs. low-carb foods.

No I’m not vegetarian I actually love my meat more than I should and other proteins.

Nothing wrong with meat. It tends to be self-limiting - have you ever been to one of those steak restaurants where they literally just put 8oz of dead animal on your plate with nothing else? It's pretty hard to work through!

If you're using fatty cuts of meat (as you should) you'll probably need a lot of (non-starchy) veg to mop up the grease. If you do that, you'll most likely find your actual meat consumption levels out at a modest quantity.

As TheAwfulToad says, dietdoctor.com is a brilliant site for both recipes and their wonderful visual guides. Another great web site to visit for recipe ideas is ditchthecarbs.com.

What is squeaky cheese? Is it a Brit saying?

Hi Mstiles

My daughter started calling Halloumi cheese squeaky cheese because it squeaks when you chew it :-)

It is made from goat, sheep or cows milk and has a high melting point so when cooked it keeps it's shape and forms a 'skin' outside whilst the inside becomes softer but still firm.

One of my favorite Halloumi snacks is to cut the cheese into chip size portions then shallow fry in olive oil with some chilli flakes. When you bite into them they 'squeak'.

Have a look at this website, there are a few ideas. If you've never had Halloumi cheese it's worth a try at least once.

have fun

Thank you! Chips were my favorite snack and comfort food before all this. Haven’t made a good substitute yet but will try this.

I’m in the US and haven’t seen cheese named Halloumi, but I’m not a cheese expert. Maybe it’s callrd something else here.

I eat a lot of spinach, both cooked and raw. Diet doctor has great recipes. Also, if you don’t mind paying for a personalized plan, try this website ketocycle.diet
