Role of dietary fibre on LCHF Diet

As followers of LCHF diet, we are sometimes concerned about reduced intake of dietary fibre. We take some supplements also to make-up the shortfall. Here is a presentation on the subject by Dr. Paul Mason, which I think may be of interest to group members following LCHF.

Like you I too take flaxseed regularly and find it effective. But yes, the role of dietary fibre has been overemphasized.

Hi just a quick update, ive just returned from holiday and im chuffed to bits I only gained 2lbs (after the 5.5lb experiment last holiday) so thank you for your advice! Reading it im beginning to come to the conclusion that for me being on lchf is not a license to eat dairy every day and so im going to reduce it even further! Lunches im having fish or meat with salad and for dinner, fish or meat with leafy veggies with the option of dairy when required. Basically the same as when I was on low fat with the exception of the carbs at dinner and the option of cheese, cream or yoghurt occasionally ! Fingers crossed this works ! Thanks again ! :-) x

I would consider 2 lbs as general weight fluctuations rather than weight gain. I think you have taken good care of your diets during holiday period.

I am sure you will keep doing well. Just keep carb low, fat and protein just enough for your satiety. Include lots of vege. I expect you to lose 2 - 3 lbs at the end of first week.

Good luck!
