epiphysiodesis ( surgery about femur shortening)

Hello, I have JIA since birth (got diagnosed at 6+ months). My one leg is shorter than other one and is making my hips, spine its unevenly ( i do have scoliosis).My rheumotologist is offering me an epiphysiodesis, I would like to know do they break femur, how is after surgery.

(actually English is not my first language)

I would recommend making an appointment with your healthcare team to talk through what the surgery involves and what to expect in terms of recovery afterwards.
