Morning Squeaks, Firstly, enjoy Sydney and Australia generally.
Re ITP. There are specialists I am sure in ITP but my experience with an Aussie registrar in this country was not good so be careful with a GP and make sure they are aware of your count before recommending any procedures and conversley not over cautious!!!
The UK ITP Forum I am sure will have contacts with specialists in Sydney as I know their chairman has been and spoken in Sydney. I suggest you send an email to the ITP Support Group ( who you can contact thrrough a link on this website ), and ask if they have any contacts and if not to ask the forum on your behalf. If you have no joy, come back to me.
Thanks! been on the same med for 3 yrs and condition is super steady so hoping I can just continue - no point in changing until it stops working I think!
Could I ask how you have been managing ITP since the diagnosis in terms of diet and medication? My mother is recently diagnosed with ITP and she has visited numerous hematologists. I am trying to find some ways to help my mother manage the issue through proper diet. Could you please tell me the do's and don'ts from your experience? As I understand this is a rare disease, I cannot find any information that is first hand available from some one with experience. My whole family is deeply worried because of this and hope this is something we could manage.
