ITP and drug testing

I have to take drug tests and have come up dirty twice for alcohol. However I drink at night and test the next day/evening and for some reason I always come up for alcohol even though it is only suppose to stay in your system for 6 to 8 hours. Can ITP have anything to do with processing alcohol differently?

Still21 you may find the following link helpful ...

Basically the substance/protein called thrombopoietin which regulates the production of our platelets is produced by the liver and kidneys.

So any damage or problems we may have with our liver or kidneys may well have a negative impact on the production of thrombopoietin and then obviously it may impact on platelet production.

I have regular tests on my kidney and liver function when I have check ups/blood tests.

Hope this helps a bit.

Best wishes
