has anyone noticed a significant drop in platelet count after having their Covid booster shot or are you staying away from the booster? Thank you

Covid booster and Platelets
Over the various times of having a covid (and flu) booster, I found that a slight drop in platelets was very short term and the platelet count had returned to (my) usual level in a couple of weeks. It would certainly not put me off getting the vaccines! I hope you find the same 🙂
I had one doctor tell me she did have patients who contacted ITP after taking Covid shots. Personally, I had ITP before taking the Covid vaccines. However, I’ve decided not to take the boosters.
I had the covid booster in 2023 and yes, my platelets dropped to the point (4,000) where I was hospitalized. The rescue treatment was IVIG and prednisone. My hematologist said no more covid boosters for me.
Thank you so much for your reply. May God bless you with good health.
I had first jab when it was rife and platelets dropped then had first booster and platelets dropped then wasn't notified about anymore boosters this time was contacted so spoke to my specialist and she advised to not have it but obviously my choice as my platelets have been doing fine and said if you had flu jab it should give you some protection anyway as there so many strains of covid now you don't know what ones the covid jab protects you against and is worth the risk of becoming ill due to low platelet count ??
Hi, I'm staying away from them. My average count is quite low and I don't want to take the risk.
It is amazing that people's experiences are all different but yes it is not unusual to see a reduction in platelet count to any immunisation. This is in most cases short lived and platelet counts recover quite quickly.
I had stable but lowish platelets...got a tetnus and covid booster and platelets dropped. Now on meds.
Over the years with any of the vaccines that I have received there is always a dip in my platelet count. They have always recovered over time.It certainly does not put me off getting vaccines.
I am living with ITP for 32 years.
No issues at all..I've had all the boosters and my platelets have stayed steady after all of them
