Hi everyone. Just wondering if anyone has tried the keto diet and have you had any improvement with your ITP. Were you able to take the ketones supplements? I know with keto alot of people say use MCT oil but being that it is part coconut oil, it is a natural blood thinner.

I'm afraid alternative medicines are not going to help ITP. Some of the strongest drugs known to man are used to treat ITP with moderate success. Self medicating with this particular condition is not a good idea and could make the condition worse. Having a good diet and moderate alcohol consumption will help with the symptoms.
Sorry there is no magic cure.
Actually some alternative meds do work for some although Keto is not a med only a diet. If using alternative meds one has to do research before trying, which is what i do. As for moderate alcohol NO that won't help the symptoms as you should know alcohol is also a natural blood thinner but should you wish to indulge once again do the research and definitely stay away from red wine as it is the worse for ITP.
I’ve been following a keto diet and haven’t had any changes in my platelet count. I have noticed less inflammation, joint pain, and fewer headaches. My iron tends to be lower so I am on an iron supplement.
I am doing a modified ketogenic diet and have now for at least two years. I say modified because I compromise some days. It is much too hard to do a strict keto diet. The diet has helped with my diabetes and weight control but I believe it has not played a role in my blood platelets and my autoimmune system attacking those platelets. I still have to have periodic Rituximab treatments.
Yes I have been doing Keto diet for past two years but not so strict. Keto has improved my weight and diabetes and reduced a lot of my symptoms. But it has not yet reversed my ITP. I suspect I need gut microbiome testing, environmental toxin testing, and parasite testing.
