When to go into the Hospital.

So I was recently diagnosed. I was started on prednisone 50mg and at first everything was fine, except the side effects (insomnia, headache, nausea, etc..) I am wondering when do you go in and when to hold off to see the hemotologist. My symptoms got worse after 3 days of taking it, I went into the Hospital and they can a number of tests. I was at less than 2 and now up to 34 so the meds are working but why are my symptoms worse? I feel my vision is getting worse, my memory, a headache that doesn't go away with Tylenol and my bruises are still getting bigger theres a long list of symptoms I've never experienced all at once before. Has anyone experienced any of this before they got better? How long will all this last? I hope my doctor has answers soon because I'm a stay home mom with 2 babies that need my full attention since they are 2 years and 9 months old. Thank you in advance for taking the time to answer.

Keep up with the Prednisone, I was diagnosed with ITP 5 weeks post partum and I had felt terrible for weeks but chalked it up to giving birth. My symptoms were extreme fatigue and weakness, feeling dizzy and unsteady when walking, and random bruises. Things did get worse for me while on the Prednisone before they got better. I think your immune system puts up a fight until the Prednisone really kicks in. I also drank aloe vera juice and took Papaya leaf extract. Not sure if that's what helped, but my platelets are holding steady! ITP is annoying, but rarely life threatening, it's just a matter of finding what works and sticking to it.

Unfortunately some people get more side effects than others. I think I have had all the side effects listed in the drug books. For me those side effects slowly subsided.
