My 83 year old father needs another bmb. The last one he had the doctor promised sedation and denied it when we got ready for procedure. My father said the doctor said he would be given something this time( I wasn't there this time). I want to call the office and get the name of medication and DOSE with the doctors signature. I don't like that they take advantage of my father and bully him. He deserves better

About her bmb
Is the procedure painful for your father? I’ve had the procedure done twice and each time it wasn’t at all painful, just uncomfortable, and tender afterwards. However I do sympathise with you if sedation was offered at the beginning and then denied. As he’s your dad and elderly you will want to protect him. Been there, done that with my mother. Good luck.
Hi dadisgiryl I’m in Chicago, IL, where do you live? I’m so sorry your Dad wasn’t medicated appropriately, l prefer Fentanyl and Versed given IV perhaps it was contraindicated in his case. I have never assisted with a bone marrow biopsy without at least a local anesthetic, pain management is the standard of care. You need to speak to his doctor or the nurse who assisted with procedure. How’s your Dad doing now? Please keep me informed
