Hi all

Our daughter has been slowly weaned off Prednisolone over the last 4-5 weeks. She's in her last week and now takes just 1 tablet (from a starting point of 12 a day). How quickly have users seen the facial side effects subside?

n normally it take 1.5 to 2 weeks to get normal face

Facial side effect went very soon in 1 weeks but for me I m still facing insomnia get 3.30 or 4 hours of sleep though I m off steroid 2 months 1 week..Rest all symptoms disappeared

Hi, I was on prednisone for 3months at a high dose and it took me 3months after completely stopping prednisone before I felt my face was back to normal. I noticed a slight improvement but it took the full 3months before I felt like me again. I will never take my cheekbones for granted again lol.

Do you remember how long it took for insomnia to go away..It's already 2 months but i only see this side effect still

I'm not the best person to answer as I am still struggling to sleep heavy at night 7months on.

I was put on eltrambopag straight after steroids (which made my hair fall out and cause terrible joint pain so I refused to take it after a while) I've been medicataion free now since the start of the year and now sleep very lightly. The slightest sound wakes me. I don't know if it was the steroids, eltrambopag or just the was I am now, but I've not had a great sleep since x

I think it's steroid for some people it takes 7 to 8 months also..

I was diagnosed in Aug 16 my treated end on 5th Dec. .After which I experience hair fall and even joint pain..insomnia started from Sept ..I am off any medicines right now..rest all symptoms went very soon..but sleeplessness is still there for me as well

I remember my over sized face too. Dont worry it will reduce in one or 2 months. Wishing her speedy recovery.!!

Usually it takes about 3 months for the full side effects of steroids to completely disappear but we are all different. In my own case my bloated face went within about 5 weeks after coming off the steroid.

I think it has impacted on the fact that our daughter hasn't been becoming tired when she usually does i.e. She's not tired at the usual time 🙂

Since i took prednisone for over a year, i still have insomnia, sleeping 4 hours give or take so i just decided that when i feel so tired & getting sleepy in daytime from fatigue... i take a day off & let myself take a nap to bounced back. it took year or so for the moon face to subside but prednisone gifted me with kneecap arthritis so i am trying to endure the pain for the rest of my life.

I get 3 hours sleep only sometimes more to 5 hours when I am very tired..but straight thing for me is I feel active thoughout day..Prior to this I used to sleep full 8 hours with sound sleep..hope with time it corrects itself
