I am approaching 70 yrs old next month. I started on Rituxan 6 months ago with hope it would stabilize my ITP for at least one year. 3 weeks ago I was tested and my count was at 97. The following week it was 76 and I began another round of Rituxan last week at acount of 52. Just one week later after the first treatment my count was 207. I now have just two more treatments to go for awhile. But it seems the long term success rate for Rituxan is probably around 30%. Some people withing that 30% can go as long as 5 years in remission. For the 70% it may last only 6 months. I do think it is indeed worth a try.

I think I misread your post. I also read somewhere repeat Rituxan at lower doses has proven effective. I think this is also worth a try. The question is how much volume of this chemical is needed to get the job done and that would depend on blood volume and the strength of your immune system.
