Hi Lin, I have two rounds of IVIG and been on 100mg of prednisone for about 45 days. So far the first time they tried to tapper the prednisone my platelets dropped back down to 24k. After the IVIG they went all the way to 217k, just won't say there.

My platelets are going up but very slowly 1st week 33 to 44 next week 46 to 47 in the last 2 weeks it has gone up from 47 to 52. I don't know why it is but I have stopped drinking and changed my diet totally am taking vitamins and papaya extract whether this is helping I doing know but at least they are going up weekly other than the bruises and tiredness I am fine. Does anybody know at what number the bruises may I stop getting so easily

Hi there is no pattern to bruises, I have been down to 0 with none but will get the odd bruise at 50.

Hi Dave I had seven different treatments over a number of years before they found one that worked for me. My lowest count was 0 and my highest was over 1,000. It could range from 3 on a Monday to 965 on the Friday in the same week. I never could accept the roller coaster nature on the condition and i wish you all the best for the future. This site saved my sanity and if we can give you support we are here for you. Take care. NickyD
