COVID survivors may be at a greater risk of developing Parkinson’s–like symptoms, researchers warn. What to know to protect your health

However grim the findings, the team’s study resulted in some positive news: ALS drug riluzole, diabetes drug metformin, and cancer drug
appear to prevent the aforementioned type of neurons from becoming infected with COVID and, thus, losing their ability to function properly."

Growth inhibitory effect of doxazosin on prostate and bladder cancer cells. Is the serotonin receptor pathway involved?
Doxazosin
, an alpha1-adrenoceptor antagonist, is used for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and hypertension. Alpha-adrenoceptor antagonists also inhibit growth and induce apoptosis in malignant prostatic cells. The apoptotic activity is independent of their capacity to antagonize

Hello again everyone. I have just started on Tagisso which my doctor said is unlikely to work because my tumour doesn't have the right genetic 'make up'. But I live in hope, what else is there. He also said that if it didn't work there was nothing left. Over the past 2 years I have had Afatinib, immunotherapy

A large injection of hope required. Please.
I was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in early 2020 and was given the targeted therapy Afatinib. This was initially most effective but gradually stopped working and so the cancer spread further in the lungs. I then had five consecutive radiotherapy sessions which reduced the size of the main tumour

Is anyone on Imatinib for Systemic Mastocytosis and has the KITD816V mutation?
Link below says that it is to be used "for disease without the KIT[D816V] mutation". https://www.nice.org.uk/guidance/gid-ta10503/documents/final-scope https://www.orpha.net/consor/cgi-bin/OC_Exp.php?lng=EN&Expert=98850

Started taking Exjade for iron overload from transfusions
Other patients took the gamble to try rux and
imatinib
and lost their gamble so I feel I owe my opportunity to them. Pure research.

has anyone been on exjade
I have benefited from the development of both
imatinib
and ruxolitinib so fell I have a duty to pay back to those patients willing and brave enough to go through trials to develop those drugs.

Trying to keep busy
I personally have problems getting motivated. I am watching too much rubbish on the tele, eating too many crisps and ice cream. I am about to run out of goodies. Hopefully my next Sainsburys delivery will have some of the treats I ask for. :) I am very lucky that I have a tiny patio and some pots so

A quick question before I forget it about ,,Acalabrutinib
Anyway, my quick question ,,, is Acalabrutinib a drug that you take for a long period of time ,,,, like
Imatinib
...... my understanding with
Imatinib
is most people take it until it stops working.,,, This is just a general question not about people one studies or other things.

Target Therapy for NSCLC stage 3 with EGFR mutation ?
My husband recently had results confirming the re-occurrence of his lung cancer. As a second line treatment he is being offered a target treatment. His oncologist is trying to get a new treatment funded for him called Dacomitinib. Is anyone using this new drug, and if so how is it going so far? We have
