ICU not yet getting up from induced coma

It's been 8 days since sedation is off, how long will it take for my father to get up?

it took me 11 days to properly come around

because we are all different it’s very difficult to determine but it can take time. Even once awake it still takes time to properly recover from the effects of the drugs let alone recovering from why you go in in the first place.

it very much is individual on when someone starts to respond and wake up. It can be a slow process and is not like you see on films where someone wakes up and is completely normal. I hope your father recovers well.

what happened to your father to help us to provide information to help you and your family. . There are many sources of information and advice available such as for head injury.

he had cardiac arrest and he is off of ventilator right after 3 weeks. Now only on oxygen.
