Post ICU recovery

I was admitted and placed into a coma in May 2021. I was intubated and asleep for a total of 69 days. I have had to learn how to walk and do everyday things all over again. I still have severe Neuropathic pain in my hands and feet. How long does it take before I will be pain free? Or will I always have this pain?

Neuropathy is a sign of nerve damage.Nerves ‘can’ repair at 1mm a day on average.

If the damage is repairable, it takes quite a time.

It took 9 months for any sensation to return to the tops of my feet ( whilst the soles of my feet were super sensitive).

I was just coming out of my coma 2 years ago and whilst I did have neuropathy in my legs and feet they weren't that painful although I have a high pain threshold because of my R A. My biggest problem was that if I stubbed my toe or cut myself I wouldn't know until I saw the blood. That is getting better. So my answer is we are all different but things do improve with time.
