I know to well what Covid does to those whos love one are in hospital fighting whether in a coma or hospitalised and i know to well how worrying and stressful this can be. My father was in coma for 7 months with very serve compilation where we nearly lost him 3 times and spent 24 hours with out any sleep waiting by the phone for that call because the doc lost hope and only gave him a few hours, i also lost a nan and few other close family members and i also feel ill to covid and hospitalised.

So if anyone want to chat or have any question, I will try and be that little support amd help.

Thank you for your generous offer. Our group has a weekly friends & relatives drop-in meeting on Tuesday evening on zoom, many of them are travelling your journey at present. If you ever were in the mood, I’m sure they would benefit immensely from your experience & perspective.

Hi Avnipiro. My mum is on ventilator since December 7. It’s extremely hard for us as we can’t visit her and she’s so delirious and gets agitated every time they reduce the sedation. We already received some negative responses from doctors who were losing hope. How did your family cope. Did any of them get pulmonary fibrosis after covid. I am so worried for my mum as she may never breath without oxygen and it’s been many weeks of sleepless nights and worry for us. How did you stay sane?

Hi, delirious is completely normal and expected, your mother has been through alot and had some very powerful medication and can last for few weeks, my father was swearing at me and didnt want to talk as he thought my mother and i tried to kill him. My father is now suffering from pulmonary fibrosis and his immune system is still attacking his lungs, they have provided some steroid to counter the attack and reduce his immune system. I know very well how hard it can be, just stay postive your mother is in the best care.

Was your dad on ECMO too? He had COVID and in a coma for 7month? My brother has been fighting for 110 days on ventilator and ECMO. Doctors tell us he doesn’t have much time. It’s so hard because we have had so many calls that he wouldn’t make it and he pushes through but we know he looks tired and probably not going to make it much longer. How did your dad organ manage being a coma that long? My brother kidneys are shutting down now.

My Dad had inflammation on his heart which made it very difficult for the heart to pump. His liver and Kidney are damaged but they managed to stay strong. So he was put on a machine to help the heart. Eventually he heart stopped working when he came out the coma and was rush in to surgery, he now has a pace maker. My father also suffered some slight brain functionality.
