This time last year I was out of it in the Birmingham QE. So thank you QE for saving my life and caring for my relatives.

This year thinking of all those staff and all staff in ICU’s across the country whether they are working or not. Not forgetting of course all the relatives who are reliving the trauma or living it real time!

Patients you haven’t a clue so come on Xmas 2021

Festive greetings to you all

Just discharged from QE on Tuesday, following a bus accident in October (out of control bus crashed onto the pavement and hit me) which caused serious damage to my bottom half and lead to a high leg amputation. Still dealing with figuring out the delirium vs real life, post ICU.

It’s nice to think that so much can change in a year, and nice to see a happy message like that. Hope you have a lovely Christmas. 😊🎄

Thank you. Whilst I came out mid March there was little support about. We live outside of Worcester and I found a charity ICUstepschester and in June started chair exercises both physical and yoga on zoom. They also offer drop in meetings one for relatives and one for anyone. Everybody has experienced ICU and whilst experiences are different they all understand!

For me I still have problems with memory and distinguishing delirium and real life. If you are interested their web site has contact details.

I should say that the exercise is tailored to each individual and the yoga helps with breathing.

Enjoy your freedom
